Helen J. Owens, the 20th Grand Basileus (International President) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., is the Founding Grand Basileus and serves as an Ex Officio member of the Board. Her leadership and legacy as the Founding Grand Basileus has brought invaluable experience and insight to the Seven Pearls Foundation Board about its origin and noble purpose. Her role as an Ex Officio member underscores her unwavering dedication to the sorority’s mission and her continued commitment to sustaining the legacy of The Seven Pearls.
Dr. Mynora J. Bryant, the 21st Grand Basileus (International President) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., is the President Emerita and serves as an Ex Officio member of the Board. Her visionary leadership was instrumental in establishing the sorority's national headquarters building, transforming it into a hub of activities that serves both the sorority and the foundation. Dr. Bryant’s legacy continues to influence the growth and success of the Seven Pearls Foundation, as the Board remains committed to operational excellence.
Dr. Vickie Cox Edmondson Inaugural Director of Initiatives
She served 10 years as the executive director of a non-profit and has extensive experience in corporate management. As the first Black woman to earn a PhD in business from the University of Georgia and the author of The Thinking Strategist®, Dr. Cox Edmondson brings a unique, thoughtful approach to leadership and strategy. Her commitment to honoring the legacy of The Seven of '1922' will empower future leaders to take charge, inspire change, and shape the future of education and society in 2025 and beyond. Dr. VCE has three amazing adult daughters, all of whom are members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, as well as a niece and a cousin.
Dr. Adrienne Unae Dozier D.Min., MBA, M.Min Director of Creativity & Engagement Dr. Dozier’s ability to craft and execute innovative programs will be instrumental in driving the Foundation's initiatives forward. Her skills in marketing and promotion will enhance visibility and support outreach efforts. With a talent for team building and effective communication, Adrienne will foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders to ensure the success and sustainability of the Foundation’s programs. Her creative approach to problem-solving and dedication to making an impact will be key to advancing the Foundation’s mission to empower women and girls. Additionally, Dr. Dozier has helped companies raise over $130M.
Dr. Adrienne Unae Dozier serves on the Advisory Board for Seven Pearls Foundation. Her diverse and extensive experience in arts management, production, and leadership makes her an excellent addition to the advisory committee for the Seven Pearls Foundation’s initiatives as an Ex-officio member. With a proven track record as an Artistic Director and Executive Leader, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to oversee complex projects, manage large budgets, and raise substantial capital. Her expertise in producing innovative and engaging artistic experiences aligns perfectly with the Foundation’s goals to inspire and empower women and girls through creative initiatives. As the Artistic Director of her own company, Adrienne has directed and produced numerous works, leading teams and managing logistical aspects from budgeting to talent coordination. Her leadership and hands-on experience will provide valuable insights for the Foundation’s programs, especially those involving arts-based education and performance. Additionally, her early involvement in the documentary project for Sigma Gamma Rho, which raised awareness about the sorority’s history, highlights her ability to shape narratives that resonate with diverse audiences—a skill that will be instrumental in amplifying the Foundation’s initiatives. Adrienne’s passion for cultural advocacy and strategic planning, combined with her background in marketing and audience development, positions her to contribute significantly to the execution of two key programs that require artistic skills. Her experience in creating culturally rich, aesthetically engaging productions will enhance the impact of the Foundation’s arts-focused efforts, fostering creativity and personal development among participants. In addition to her artistic expertise, Adrienne brings strong leadership and project management skills, having led teams and managed multi-million-dollar budgets, which will further strengthen the advisory committee’s ability to execute strategic initiatives and drive the Foundation’s mission forward. As our Director of Creativity & Engagement she brings energy, innovation, and creativity to the In Front of The Class initiatives and other community facing opportunities. Whether it's with girls aspiring to explore STEM and the arts or adults with pertinent questions and comments on hot topics, Adrienne Unae® ensures that our initiatives are not only educational but also engaging and memorable. Local volunteers who are interested in the entertainment industry will be a big help to her, making sure the foundation’s events and initiatives run smoothly. They can pitch in with things like helping run workshops, assisting with event setup, interacting with guests, and sharing the excitement at live events. Ocielia’s experience in mentoring youth, coupled with her focus on ethical practices, will ensure that our initiatives provide valuable opportunities while being built on a foundation of respect and responsibility. Her advocacy for self-empowerment will be a key asset as the Foundation expands its mentorship programs and supports women and girls in underserved communities.
Jamie Singleteary, MA, LPC, NCC
Her expertise at the intersection of mental health, community engagement, and public policy will help the Foundation design programs that empower women and girls to overcome challenges and achieve success. Jamie’s advocacy for mental health will ensure the Foundation’s initiatives create lasting impact by addressing both emotional and psychological needs, fostering social mobility and empowerment.

Lisa Leslie Garth Leslie’s ability to optimize workflows and increase productivity will help streamline operations, ensuring that programs are efficient and aligned with long-term goals. Her experience in creating sustainable business and philanthropic models will ensure the Foundation’s initiatives are impactful, financially viable, and legally sound. Leslie’s skills in organizational development will be key to building systems that support growth and create lasting change in the communities we serve.
